Hiring SEO Speciaist for New Website?

Hi all

I have a new website launching in 2023, it will have no SEO obviously.

I will be doing all the paid google ads and social media stuff myself

but for SEO, at this early stage do i need to hire someone ? i know SEO takes time so at this early stage is it best to hire someone to start that process, and if yes, i suppose it will have to be for a long term ( say 6-12month period)?

Before i hire someone, i would like know what things they will do and questions i need to ask them to make sure they are doing their job properly and im not just paying for empty promises
