The first thirty years of my existence were dotted with emotional pain and heartbreak. Premised on bad experiences during my teen years, I approached my relationships cautiously, unwilling, or perhaps unable to love fully. I kept myself in check and failed to be me. I held back, and that came with dire consequences. I fell in love, but then I made it impossible for her to love me enough to stay long enough. I threw tantrums and threw the toys out of my pram.


I was saved from the emotional misery that followed this by a chance encounter in a park one late evening while I was brooding. It was the spark that ignited my life once again; it probably saved my life because I could once again taste happiness.


Your relationship with your woman can be the defining marker of your existence. It can leave you fulfilled and happy at all times. However, it can also be the thing that ruins you if you do not do the right thing. You could lose the love of your life because you remain broken and unable to offer her emotional insecurity. I should know because I have been on both sides of the story.
