Have never had any major problems with Hostgator and their support is excellent. The 1 penny is only for the first month then it is about $8 or so a month. If you are good at getting site up quickly you can be earning by the time the month is through so it will pay for itself.

For me Hostgator is number 1 host. In the past I used other host and my sites almost always were down. Now I changed to Hostgator and I don't have any problems.

No i have not tested it, it is better idea to go for any yearly web hosting plan than 1 penny hosting, in the first month it is free, later own it is expensive than other companies.
