When it comes to learning the basic video marketing concepts they are pretty much the same as all marketing concepts. You want to answer the number 1 question your prospect has: what's in it for me? Once you can show them that your product or service will make their life better and easier in some way they will be much more likely to reach for their credit card.
It's always important to answer that question for your prospect. You want to explain to them just what your product or service does, but more importantly, you want to use emotional terms to illustrate how that will benefit them.
For example, if you sell a course about weight loss, it's not enough to say that your product will teach them the right way to exercise. You also have to show them, on an emotional level, how that will benefit them.
Use emotional words to let them know that your program can help them get the same, or better, results in less time. That leaves them more time to flaunt their hot new body. With less time spent working out, it'll be easier to find the time to work out, etc.
These are basic marketing principles, but when it comes to videos there are some added things you need to keep in mind:
1. You don't need to make a master piece of film making, just make sure that the images are clear and that you speak in a slow, easy to understand pace. Don't stumble and stammer all over your words. If you make a mistake go back and do it again. It might be a pain but your visitors won't listen to a gibberish mess so if you don't do it right, you might as well not waste your time at all.
2. Keep the visuals easy to see and simple. They want to get to the point as soon as possible.
3. Keep the videos short, usually between 3 - 5 minutes. Any longer than that and your visitors will lose interest. This rule isn't as important once they've signed up to your list and you're offering them some sort of training videos these can be a little longer, though not by too much.
4. Don't let your thoughts wander. Keep on track. If you meander all over the place in your video they will get disgusted and leave. It shows them that you don't respect their time is valuable. It might help to make a general overview or script before you start. Don't stick to a script so much that you sound unnatural but enough that you cover the main points quickly and clearly.
Implementing these video marketing concepts (as well as the concepts that aren't directly related to video) and you will greatly improve your online marketing effectiveness. Remember, marketing is a process, you'll need to take time to find what works and what doesn't. This process can be frustrating, but it's necessary. Once you've got it all dialed in you can pretty much make as much money as you want.
