PayPal, an international organization for online money transaction and payment is going to start its operation in upcoming September 2012.
Leaders of Bangladesh association of software and information services (BASIS) have ensured the information that PayPal authorities have decided to start their operation from their side from the upcoming September.
Freelancers, including software developers from Bangladesh those who work online and earn money through outsourcing have been demanding to implement this system.
BASIS President Mahumud Jaman Masud Hasan Khan described how the entire process started.
According to him BASIS was trying to bring PayPal to Bangladesh but there was some regulatory restriction of the banking system that’s why they had to negotiate with central bank, and atone stage central bank gave the permission.
PayPal itself was not interested to operate in Bangladesh due to some image crisis of Bangladesh. However, the door began to open when Intel vice president visited Bangladesh during the event E-Asia last December as he came to realize the necessity of the service. He contacted with the paypal president and requested to start operation in Bangladesh.
PayPal responded positively, and Intel vice president let BASIS know the good news.
