I think money is a tool, and like any tool it can be used for many things. Ultimately though happiness comes from within, I think. I've seen people try to buy happiness with money and after a little while they just end up feeling empty, needing to distract themselves with new toys, new partners, new experiences.

Money can however buy time and some freedom, I think, that we can use to search for meaningful, true, happiness.

Define happiness first.
I believe there is no such thing as permanent happiness in this world.
It comes and goes over and over.
If you define it as a general sense of well being yes and yes.
It relaxes you because you can eat and put a roof over your head etc.
It can also stress you ie fear of losing it or taxes or fear of being hated by the friends who cannot identify with you anymore being used etc. The idea of the evil rich vs the noble and good poor people. Sometimes we can associate having money with being a bad person.

There are two faces to it.
1. Yes it does. Those arguing it doesn't , go to a broke guy and give home a $100 bill.
Go to a begger who haven't ate for days and give him a few dollars to buy food.
Go to a student who has a huge debt , for sure money buys happiness

2. The other face is, when you are already fucking rich.
In this case money won't matter. There is a certain boundary to it. One you are on par with it money won't matter and it won't buy happiness either.

At that stage you will be arguing over a Ferrari and Lamborghini. Whereas in the first case you would be between walking a ducking few miles in a hot sun and taking a uber. Lol
