Step 1: Create Your Tumblr
Alright so the first thing you're going to want to do is create a Tumblr. Use a name that doesn't have numbers in it and make it something catchy that people will remember. Make sure it relates to your niche. Oh yeah! You have to choose a niche so that people will know what your blog and all the pictures are about. Some good ideas are: sexy women (adult) blog, funny pictures, recipes, health and itness, whatever interests you the most! But obviously something where you can find a lot of great, shareable pictures.
After you've picked your niche and a great name to stand out, you want to setup your Tumblr with a theme. Choose a theme that not a lot of people have and that is slick and flashy. Upload a memorable profile picture and your Tumblr is created!
Oh yeah, another thing: if you have money it's a great idea to buy a domain for $10.99 at NameCheap and then forward your Tumblr blog to it. This will help improve the popularity of your blog. But you don't have to do it.
Step 2: Start Adding Photos
Alright cool Chakradhiraj, you made your free blog! Now it's time to make it awesome. Go to Google Images and search a bunch of different keywords that will bring up interesting photos from your niche. You can either go through one at a time, pick one you like and then post it, then do it again. Or, you can pick all the photos ahead of time and then upload them periodically. You'll want about 300 images, this takes a little time.
Some people in the "BlackHat" world of Internet Marketing like to use software or bots that auto-post photos to Tumblr on a schedule. It saves a lot of time, so you may be interested in that. Be careful about posting too much though, you could get banned. Here's a link to the free Auto-Queue Bot. You'll have to sign up for an account at this forum (BlackHatWorld) but it's an amazing forum and has a ton of great ideas. E-mail me at [email protected] if you want the bot without signing up (or if you want any help at all) The settings recommended for this bot are to set it to post 50-60 per day. It's much safer to do it manually because you won't get banned, but the bot is much faster obviously.
When you're posting, make sure to fill your photos with tags relevant to your niche and add your blog to the Click-Tru URL box.
Step 3: Make Friends and Network
Now this next method is also possible to do with a bot, but I'm going to recommend that you don't do that. Follow and like people that have Tumblrs that are in your niche. Do a search, send messages to people asking you to check out your blog and generally be social with other Tumblrs. When you follow and like people, they tend to follow you back. Especially if you do something personal like a message.
You can add as many friens as you want manually, because it's obvious by how many you've added that you can't do it with a bot. HOWEVER, those who have money can invest in the Tumblr Auto Bot for $12. You set it to follow so many people per day and it follows that many people automatically, which makes those people follow you. Maybe try doing your follows manually for a day and see how many you do, then set the Auto Bot to do that many.
Over time you will develop a huge list of followers who love your blog because you always post great pictures and post 50-60 per day so they're always entertained. They will post links to your blog that others click. But there are other ways to generate traffic. Traffic means visitors which means ad-clicks once we monetize. Let's look at how to get more traffic.
Step 4: Advertise for Traffic
Now you're going to want to spread the word about your blog. Bookmark it on Reddit on a niche-relevant SubReddit. Like it on StumbleUpon. Share it on Twitter. Share it on Facebook. Buy a link from other popular blogs on Tumblr (email me at [email protected] if youw ant help finding a blog to buy your link on!). Basically just shout it to the rooftops about your awesome new blog that posts X amount of amazing, funny pictures per day.
Step 5: Monetize
Now it's time for the fun part! The part where you start seeing money come in. There are a couple of ways to advertise your blog. You can do AdSense (Google's advertising system) but don't do that if you have an adult blog. You can also try adding paid sponsored links from places like Intellilinks that pay you for each click you provide. Those that ARE doing an adult blog can use something called PlugRush, which pays for adult traffic you send to their websites. Look it up, I don't want to share that sort of link in this newsletter!
You can also advertise using a service called ImageTwist, which pays when people look at their photos or click their photos. Check them out too.
The key here is to not be too obvious with your advertisements, that will ruin the blog. Put them in your sidebar and header and hid them in images that people will click. This is a much better way to entice clicks than blasting them all over your blogs.
Step 6: Scale Out
Once you start making money, you can buy the tools I mentioned earlier. They say in the Internet Marketing world that if you can make $1, you can make $1 million. You just have to scale and automate things. So here's what we're going to do.
Set up the Tumblr Queue Bot with pictures for your original blog. Set the Tumblr Auto Bot to be constantly following people so that they follow you back. Now start ANOTHER blog! Find the pictures for it and set up the bots to do their thing. Advertise using methods that worked for you before. Once traffic comes in, start monetizingwith the ads and links that worked best for you the first time. Then the next day, create another blog! Keep doing this until the bots are at capacity, then work on optimizing your blogs for the most traffic and the most clicks.
Start a Twitter account, start a Facebook page, gain a community of followers from Reddit. Just keep working at it. You'll start to really see the money come in when you have 5-6 blogs going at a time and generating auto income for you. The only things you really have to do are set up the blogs, choose the pictures and monetize it. I'm going to be on the lookout for a huge folder of Tumblr pictures that are likely to get reblogged and shared. I will email that out to you another time, but for now just find the pictures yourself using Google Images. That will be the most time-consuming part.
